There is more to Las Vegas than just Casino's.

Red Rock Canyon
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area holds a special place in the hearts of thousands of Las Vegans. In marked contrast to a town geared to entertainment and gaming, Red Rock Canyon offers enticements of a different nature. Peace, serenity and beauty are just a few words that will barely begin to describe what you will experience here. The Mojave Desert is not barren as you might think. It is teeming with life and beauty that in my opinion is rare and

unique. Petrified sand dunes, frozen in time, offer you a unique perspective of nature as well as the effects of the passing of millions of years. The excitement of suddenly appearing waterfalls, cascading into the canyons, will make you appreciate the mysteries and the hidden dangers of the Mojave. Red tailed hawks search for their next meal while drifting on air currents high above the desert floor.

Las Vegas Golf Courses
Las Vegas is home to numerous emaculate golf courses. Las Vegas had ideal weather that enables golfers to play all year round. While thousands of tourist flock to Nevada to take advantage of our courses, residents have to luxury of having these courses right in their back yard.

With 20 new developments since 1998 (nearly all garnering national honors from GOLF and Golf Digest) and irresistible hotel and air packages, there's never been a better time to buy a round of

golf in Vegas. But even in this golfer's paradise, there are a few tricks to having a perfect par day.

Mt. Charleston
In the summer, Mt. Charleston is a refuge from the heat, a hiker's dream and a camper's retreat. In the winter, it's a hot toddy in the Lodge, ski lifts and ski trails and snowballs.

At 11,918 feet above sea level, Charleston Peak is the second highest mountain of the Spring Mountain National Recreation Area, and the highest point of the Nevada portion of the Toiyabe National Forest. It is the eighth highest

peak in Nevada. The temperature on the mountain is usually 25-30 degrees cooler than that of Las Vegas, making it a nice place to go for a drive and picnic during the heat of July and August. Take State Highway 95 north to Highway 157, the Mt. Charleston cutoff.

Picnic areas are many in the shade of the ancient pine trees above the 8,000 ft. level. It's about 35 miles north and west of Las Vegas. Many areas are also suitable for camping in the late spring and throughout the summer. Hikers love the area. The trails are many, and the views are some of the most beautiful in Southern Nevada.
